THIS IS A TEST

...as they used to say in ominous tones on TV and radio, when we were baby-boomer children, prompting juvenile heart palpitations and asthmatic attacks throughout the land, as we all had visions of the Cold War dancing in our heads. (Did anyone see FAIL SAFE?) Duck and cover! My father was stationed at Lockbourne Air Force Base, and I knew the Ruskies would likely bomb Ohio first!

But no, they didn't. Nonetheless, the words THIS IS A TEST, spoken by an official-sounding white man on the airwaves, always causes a rather feverish dip in my blood pressure. If I have unnecessarily triggered and alarmed any American baby-boomers with that phrase--sorry!

One thing I enjoy about blogging is all the little gimcracks and things. I finally figured out a lot of the html codes, and celebrated by signing up at all those little blogging places, like Blog Catalog and Blog Mad* and getting the pretty buttons to put on my site. Neat! So, I was getting a little cocky, with my Bush's Last Day clock and all. LOOKIT ME, I can make a blog pretty, even if my personal dwelling is in considerable disarray! Ha!

And then, I encountered the FoxyTunes thing, and I went to pieces. ARGH!!! God, I am STUPID, or at the very least, simply not a computer geek. I can't get it to do right, and I may even have downloaded the same thing 3 times. Intelligent!

And so, this is a test. Supposedly, it will tell you what song I am currently listening to. I very much enjoy listening to the songs, but it's seriously maddening to try anything more complicated than that. Even more disturbing, a bunch of 10-year-olds and all their friends (I exaggerate only slightly) have left messages on the FoxyTunes blog, saying WOW, this is COOL and WE LOVE IT! So how come the kindergarten set understands all this better than I do? Ye gods, that is embarrassing in the extreme.

Anyway, if it works, you'll see it, I reckon. If not, oy, back to the proverbial drawing board.

Hope your day is good!

*Blog Mad is nice because you can continuously browse blogs without encountering any porn, which is NOT true for Blogger. (If I want porn, I know where to find it... and besides, I am far too esoteric for mainstream porn, she said haughtily!) Also, you get points, but I haven't quite figured out what to do with the points! If you can sort that out for me, let me know!

Edit: You don't see it, do you? I was afraid of that. Never mind, disregard entire post.

IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE THIS DAMN THING WORK, PLEASE DROP ME A LINE WITH S-I-M-P-L-E DIRECTIONS. Thank you very much!
